Turkish-Italian DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Carlita (real name Carla Frayman) announces her signing with Ninja Tune via imprint label Counter Records and shares her long-awaited, fan-favourite new single “Time”. Known for her electrifying in-demand DJ sets, as well as her “penchant for lush, hypnotic productions that balance depth, toughness and a cool sort of beauty” (Billboard), Carlita’s fusion of classical music with electronic elements creates an eclectic sound inspired by Turkish psychedelia and rock, making her stand one of the most exciting new voices in electronic music.
On joining the Counter family – where she follows a legendary lineage of peers like ODESZA, TSHA, LP Giobbi and Maribou State – Carlita says, “Ninja Tune is such an iconic label for me. I grew up listening to Coldcut, Amon Tobin and Bonobo. I love the diversity of sounds, the crossover and futuristic approach and I feel so honoured to be part of such an amazing artist roster”.
Carlita has seen stellar support from the press, having graced the cover of DJ Mag in October 2023 along with further support from Billboard, Office Magazine, Dazed, Document Journal, Notion, Beatportal, FLAUNT and more.
With the announcement, Carlita shares highly anticipated new single, “Time”, an equally moving and hypnotising track that quickly gained popularity amongst her fans. “Time” has become a staple in Carlita’s DJ sets, appearing as the closer to her lauded Tomorrowland set and becoming the most replayed moment online. Since then, she has been teasing the single, sparking further demand from fans for its official release. “Time” acts as a first look of a fuller body of work that will cement Carlita’s exceptional production and songwriting abilities.
